The iPhone is the Best Selling Smartphone Throughout Q4 2011

There has been some debate recently about whether the drop in sale of the latest Smartphone models produced by major manufacturers like Nokia, HTC and LG meant that the bottom might be dropping out of the durable Smartphone market. However new figures have indicated that this, the most recession-proof of industries, is not in decline, it is simply that more copies of the Apple iPhone are being purchased instead of those of these major rival companies.

The report by Gartner, which examined sales figures for Smartphones during Q4 2011, showed that the total number of Smartphones sold during this period reached an astonishing 149 million – representing a rise of 47 percent on the sales figures for the same period in the previous year – and clearly indicating that their has been no decline in public enthusiasm for Smartphones. Twitter Suspended Some of the Third Party Apps

Twitter on Friday suspended UberTwitter, Twidroyd and UberCurrent stating violation of privacy rules to be the reason for suspension. All these third-party Twitter sites are owned by UberMedia and falls into three major platforms-UberTwitter on the BlackBerry platform, Twidroyd for Android devices and UberCurrent on iPhones and iPads. Twitter had made clear that the suspension was owing to certain violations in the policies and trademarks of the company. The privacy issue with private Direct Messages longer than 140 characters and change of users’ Tweets for monetary benefit were also reasons cited. However, there has been certain credible changes made since the suspension. UberMedia has resubmitted the apps with better features and title to please Twitter. UberTwitter will be UberSocial with immediate effect and the message length has been reduced considerably than before. Verizon iPhone is in for Sale

And the wait for Verizon Wireless iPhone is finally over! Starting today, the Verizon’s version of iPhone 4 will be available in retail stores.

Apple and Verizon Wireless stores, along with Best Buy and other selected Wal-Mart stores, will start selling the Verizon iPhones at 7 a.m. local time. Apple and Verizon had quickly sold out the initial batch of iPhones that had been made available through presale to Verizon customers last week. Also Verizon had claimed that demand for iPhone 4 had surpassed any other previous smartphone launch on its network, including the much anticipated Motorola Droid and Droid X, as well as the HTC Incredible.
