One of the main products of most organizations in this “information economy” is data. Often this data is essential to the entities success, enabling it to respond to constituent inquiries, be they transactional or compliance related. At the same time, there are retention and disaster recovery requirements organizations must address. These requirements, combined with the need for productivity gains, are why digitizing paper and microfiche records is in such demand.

Leading organizations have taken the initiative and are now converting documents and fiche into digital files. In most cases these organizations look a competent partner to successfully deliver on this task. AMD introduces new systems and technology track for embedded customers

AMD has announced a new line of products and tools for embedded customers. These offerings extends over products, software, design and sales support. These also include the immediate availability of three new low- power processors for the AMD Embedded G-series platform, as well as the new Systems and Technology track for the AMD Fusion Partner Program that is aimed at embedded solutions providers.The new addition for the AMD Embedded G-series platform allows deeply embedded or “headless” systems. These don’t require a graphics solution , to take advantage of the new “Bobcat” CPU core. These new processors are available in 5W and 18W power bands and provide a set of advanced computational features not available in the X86 solutions.

HP Named The Former SAP Executive As Their CEO

Léo Apotheker was selected as the president and chief executive officer by the Hewlett-Packard’s board of directors. This is the third time that HP chooses an external candidate as the CEO over a decade. The present CEO of HP Mark Hurd was compelled to resign as he got involved in sexual-harassment and expense-reporting scandal on August 6. Apotheker will take over from Mark Hurd on November 1.

Apotheker who is 57 year old, was CEO of the German software giant SAP from 2008 to 2010. He worked in SAP for almost 19 years and resigned in February in the midst of chaos over poor earnings. Blackberry Tablet May Be Out By Next Week

BlackBerry maker Research In motion Ltd. is all set to unveil its new tablet computer by next week. The tablet named BlackPad scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of this year will be powered by a QNX operating system replacing its recently revamped BlackBerry 6 OS.

The Blackberry tablet ‘BlackPad’ will feature a 7-inch touch screen and one or two built-in cameras. It would feature bluetooth and broadband connection facilities, but will only be able to connect to cellular networks through a BlackBerry smartphone. The RIM tablet manufactured by Quanta Computer, Taiwan, will run on chips from Santa Clara, Calif.-based Marvell Technology Group Inc.
